Baseball Head Coach

HOUSTON, TX

Position Summary 

The Middle School Baseball Coach is responsible for developing, organizing, and leading the school’s baseball program. This position focuses on teaching fundamental baseball skills, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and ensuring a positive environment that supports both athletic and personal growth for student athletes. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  1. Practice (Monday to Thursday 4 to 6pm) 

  2. Competitions (6 to 8 games) 

  • Plan, organize, and conduct baseball practices and games. 
  • Teach players the rules, techniques, and strategies of baseball.
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude.
  • Supervise student athletes to ensure safety during practices, games, and travel (ideally being able to drive TSCS vans).
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
  • Manage equipment, uniforms, and field maintenance needs. 
  • Develop lineups and game strategies appropriate for middle school competition. 
  • Encourage academic achievement and personal development among team members  
  • Enforce school rules and expectations with student athletes regarding grades and behaviors 

Qualifications:  

  • Prior coaching or playing experience in baseball (middle school level preferred). 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of baseball rules, techniques, and strategies.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor young athletes.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Must meet the school’s requirements for coaching positions (background check, safety training, etc) 



 

Reporting Structure 

  • Reports directly to the Athletic Director 

Schedule: 

  • Off Campus: Monday–Friday, 4 to 6pm
  • Contracted position February to May 

Compensation 

  • Stipend $3,000 - $3,500
