Nursert Assistant
Position Summary
The Nursery Assistant supports the full time nursery staff in care of the children in our on campus faculty nursery. This position provides essential care to our youngest children on campus. They provide for the physical, emotional and intellectual stimulation and safety of children ages 0-3years old. Works under the direction of the Nursery Coordinator.
Primary Responsibilities
Front Desk (10:30 AM–3:30 PM on campus)
- Assist in the daily care and supervision of children.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to promote physical, intellectual, and emotional development.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Observe and monitor children's behavior and progress, documenting and reporting any concerns to supervisors or parents.
- Collaborate with parents and other staff members to ensure a positive and supportive environment is maintained.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge of childcare practices.
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing work assignments and responsibilities.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree and previous experience working with children in a daycare or nursery setting prefferred. Knowledge and understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate activities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently as well as part of a team. Willingness to comply with state-mandated health and safety regulations and undergo background checks. Flexibility to work varied schedules, including mornings, evenings, and weekends, as needed
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the NUrsery Coordinator.
Schedule:
- On Campus: Monday–Friday
- PT/10-month employee
